GREENVILLE – Sectionline Bigry highlighted the field at the 2020 Great Darke County Fair returning to defende his 2019 Gene Riegle Memorial win.

Sectionline Bigry made it two straight years winning the $30,000 Gene Riegle Memorial Pace with a mile in 1:53 with a field of seven boasting in excess of 1.5 million in earnings.

“It was a great race,” said Darke County Fair Board member and Speed Superintendent, Richard Delk.

Following 2019 highlight wins including the Ohio Sires Stakes Older Pacing Championship at Scioto Downs and the Gene Riegle Memorial Open Pace at the Great Darke County Fair, Bigry was named Ohio’s 2019 Older Pacer of the Year.

“We had a repeat winner here on the grounds,” Race Manager, Tim Harless stated. “I’m happy for Steve Bauder.”

Tyler Smith drove for trainer Steve Bauder and owner Harold Lee Bauder in winning the local Thursday event to close out racing at the 2020 Great Darke County Fair.

Lane Of Stone won the $15,000 undercard Arnie Almahurst Trot in 1:55.4 with Jeff Nisonger riding for Mark Winters. The 4H by Winning Stone-Wisteria Lane is owned by Harry Horowitz. It was the second win in five starts this season with lifetime earnings of $459,832.

“It was a great week of racing,” Harless concluded. “We just miss our fans and hopefully we’ll be bigger and stronger in 2021.”
