MV football team drops down to Division VII

UNION CITY — Mississinawa Valley’s football team will drop down to Division VII, the division for the smallest schools in the Ohio High School Athletic Association, for the 2014 season.As a result of eight schools adding varsity football teams for the 2014, the OHSAA announced on Thursday that it had realigned regions and divisions for some varsity football teams. Locally the alterations only affect Mississinawa Valley, who had competed in Division VI in 2013.In dropping down a division, Mississinawa Valley joins Ansonia and Bradford as Darke County teams competing in Division VII Region 26. Arcanum and Versailles remain in Division VI Region 22 while Greenville stays in Division II Region 10.
