Lady Wave tennis players win tournament matches

TROY — Greenville girls tennis players Madison Bixler and Holly Cameron won their first three sectional tournament matches on Tuesday to advance to next week’s district tournament.The doubles team of Bixler and Cameron began the Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional tournament with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Madison Kinslow and Marie Butts. The Lady Wave duo then beat Sidney Barker and Amy Sloane of Stivers 6-1, 6-1 and Hailey Weaver and Michelle Hibbard of Northmont 6-4, 7-5.Bixler and Cameron will continue sectional tournament play with on Friday morning in Troy. The duo then will play in the district meet on Oct. 9 at A.T.P. Tennis Center in Mason.

 

Arcanum volleyball sweeps Tri-Village

NEW MADISON — The Arcanum volleyball team swept Tri-Village in a Cross County Conference match on Tuesday 25-14, 25-12, 25-20.Elle Siculan led Arcanum with 12 assists in the match while Brittany Kinney had seven kills and Amanda McGaffic had eight digs.Arcanum won the junior varsity match in two sets.Arcanum hosts Newton in a conference match on Thursday while Tri-Village travels to Twin Valley South on Thursday for a CCC match up.

Greenville girls golf team finishes 12th in sectional

DAYTON — The Greenville girls golf team finished 12th out of 13 teams in its Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional tournament on Tuesday at Kittyhawk Golf Course.Greenville shot a 479 as a team in the sectional tournament to end its postseason play.
