Keller wins gymnastics meet, home meet next

DARKE COUNTY — Greenville gymnast Paige Keller and Franklin Monroe gymnast Madison Myers competed as individuals Saturday in the Indian Cup at Cincinnati Country Day.

Keller won the all-around title with a 35.70. She won the vault with a 9.65, was fourth on the bars with an 8.85 and was fifth on the floor with a 9.00.

Myers placed sixth on the beam with an 8.75.

Darke County’s gymnasts will compete Saturday at the YMCA of Darke County in Greenville. March-in is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.

Samantha Shook represents Ansonia. Marina Mehaffie and Emma Smith represent Arcanum. Myers represents Franklin Monroe. Keller, Sydney Oda and Tessa Schatz represent Greenville for the Lady Wave’s first season with a full team. Jena Frantz represents Versailles.

The eight gymnasts is double the amount Darke County had last year with Arcanum and Versailles joining Ansonia, Franklin Monroe and Greenville.

Keller and Shook will be honored Saturday prior to the start of the competition as the senior gymnasts.
