Mississinawa baseball beats Bradford 8-6

BRADFORD — The Mississinawa Valley baseball team beat Bradford 8-6 on Thursday in a Cross County Conference game.

After Mississinawa Valley took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the first inning, Bradford scored three runs in the first and one in the fourth to go up 4-1.

MV responded with a run in the third and four in the fourth to take a 6-4 lead, but Bradford tied the game back up with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Mississinawa Valley then scored a run in both the sixth and seventh innings for the 8-6 win.

MV had eight hits and stranded seven runners. Bradford has six hits and stranded six. The Blackhawks committed one error while the Railroaders committed three.

For MV Carson Stump was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a RBI and two runs scored. Tyler Jenkinson was 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, a RBI and two runs scored. Colyn Nelson went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored.

For Bradford Brandon Wysong was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored. TJ Pullins was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Mason Justice went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Stump was the winning pitcher for MV, pitching seven innings and allowing four runs on four walks, five hits and 15 strikeouts. Jenkinson pitched, too, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk,

Pullins, Wysong and Mikey Barga pitched for Bradford, combining to allow eight hits and six walks while striking out 11.
