Greenville tennis team suffers 1st GWOC North loss

GREENVILLE — The Greenville boys tennis team suffered its first Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division loss of the season on Friday, falling 4-1 to Troy.

Greenville’s lone win of the match came at second singles where Evan Kiser beat Conner Oaks 6-3, 0-6, 6-2.

In the first singles match the Green Wave’s Voja Tatarevic lost to Luke Oaks 6-2, 6-3. At third singles the Wave’s Javi Bixler fell 6-1, 6-1 to Matt Schmitt.

At first doubles Greenville’s Dylan Blinn and Nathan Haviza lost 2-6, 6-0, 6-0 to Matt Alexander and Ian Stutz. In second doubles Masen Rich and Adam Null lost 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 to Aaron Coon and Carter Hench.

Greenville fell to 10-6 overall and 2-1 in the GWOC North with the loss. Troy improved to 14-2 overall and 3-1 in the GWOC North.

The Greenville junior varsity boys tennis team defeated Troy 5-0. Quintin Muhenkamp, Craig Manges and Noah Haupt won in singles while Sean Wolter and Alex Lance plus Tyler Davis and Josh Smith won in doubles. The Green Wave junior varsity tennis team is now 12-0 on the year.
