Darke County’s cutest kid chosen

GREENVILLE - The people have spoken and have chosen the cutest kid in Darke County - Hailee Skye Worsham

The Daily Advocate received 175 entries for the Cutest Kids Contest. and the overall prize winner garnered 2,752 votes, winning the title by 92 votes.

That overall winner of the Cutest Kids Contest was Danielle Houck with a photo of her daughter, the entry was titled, “Hailee Skye.” She will receive a $100 prize, thanks to the title sponsorship by Wal-Mart.

Worsham was also a category winner (4 to 5-year-olds).

The 5-year-old is the granddaughter of Dawn Houck, and the great-granddaughter of Linda and Vernon Vencill of Arcanum.

“She was excited after we finally told her,” Danielle said of her daughter not knowing she was entered in the contest.

The winning photo had Hailee holding a baby chick at Easter time.

As part of the contest, parents, grandparents and legal guardians were invited to upload their favorite photographs of their children, ages 12 years and younger, to our website. Readers were then tasked with electing the cutest by casting their votes in the online image gallery.

Second place went to a toddler - Hannah Elise, with 2,660 votes.

Also winning bragging rights were winners in six subcategories:

“Anya,” of Greenville claimed the top spot in the newborns category with 1,730 votes; “Hannah Elise,” of Arcanum in the toddlers category with 2,660 votes; “Alexis Marie,” of Greenville in the 2 to 3-year-old category with 2,158 votes; “Hailee Skye” of Greenville in the 4 to 5-year-old category with 2,752 votes; “Juan Daniel,” of Union City in the 6 to 8-year-old category with 1,150 votes; and “Emma,” of Union City in the 9 to 12-year-old category with 1,371 votes.
