Town hall to feature Rep. Jim Jordan

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Liberty Group with host a town hall, Monday, September 18, at 7 p.m., featuring Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, 4th District.

The event, which is free and open to the public will be in the Sidney VFW Hall, 2841 Wapakoneta Ave.

Jordan is a fiscal conservative who believes that families and taxpayers know better than government how money is to be spent. He has been an advocate of taxpayers and serves on the House Judiciary and the House Oversight and Government Reform committees, and is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Health Care, Benefits and Administrative Rules.

The federal government spends $6 million a minute, each minute, every day of the year. This unfettered spending costs each American family over $23,000 a year. Federal government spending is out of control and Jordan feels it is the responsibility of Congress to fix the problem. Jordan feels the federal government “is too large and spends too much.” He also feels that a strong defense is vital to the security and stability of the country, and troops need not just support but tools to get the job done. Jordan is an advocate of securing the borders, robustly enforcing our immigration laws and fixing the system for the many who want to make America their home. Parents, according to Jordan, should have the freedom to guide their children’s education. Health care reform is needed, and Jordan says the medical decisions should be put in the hands of doctors, families and patients.

Jordan helped found the House Freedom Caucus and believes the voters sent him to Washington to be a conservative member of Congress.

Jordan will speak and answer questions. There will also be a raffle of wine, chocolates, a bird house and gift certificates.
