DAYTON – Foundations in Faith Community Nursing Course will be offered March31 or April 8 and April 28 – 30, 2016

The Health Ministries Programs of Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio, and St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Covington, Kentucky, are partnering to host a Foundations in Faith Community Nursing Course. This course begins with day one on March 31 or April 8, 2016 (Covington, Kentucky and South Dayton, Ohio respectively).

The first session will be an introduction into the concepts of both health ministry and faith community nursing. It is appropriate for all members of a health ministry team including: nurses, allied health professionals, clergy and congregational staff. Persons interested in starting a health ministry will find the first session very helpful. March 31 and April 8 can be taken as a stand-alone event.

For those interested in taking the full course, you attend either March 31 or April 8, then the course completes with three retreat days, April 28 – 30, 2016 at the Transfiguration Spirituality Center in Glendale, Ohio. During the retreat, participants will also learn how to use their professional knowledge and skills to deliver whole person care – body, mind and spirit – whether in a congregation, a community-based health ministry or in a clinical nursing practice. The full course is appropriate for registered nurses that have an active nursing license in the state where they practice.

Pre-registration is required. Nursing continuing education credit will be provided.
