GREENVILLE — Mariana Ramos, the 2015 Miss Annie Oakley, has made a donation to help fill chemotherapy bags.

She presented her donation to Tiffany Beumer Kester at the Chicken Kitchen in Greenville, who is making the gesture to donate bags to Darke County area chemo patients in need of encouragement.

“I had a family go through cancer,” Kester said. “It [a bag] puts a smile on their faces.”

Kester said she is hoping to sponsor 100 bags and get the first round of bags out soon.

“You can help spread the love by sponsoring a chemo care bag,” she said. “It is $35 per bag to sponsor. Your name will be put on a tag, so it is known from whom it came. You may also choose to put ‘in memory’ of ‘in honor of” on the tag.”

Kester, a 2010 Greenville High School graduate, went on, “We still need many more donations to make this a success. Flyers are available daily at Chicken Kitchen II. As well, this is the location to drop off any donations.

According to Facebook, items in the bag could contain magazines, socks, Chapstick, nail polish, shower gel, lotions and hard candy.
