Chicago to perform at Darke Co. Fair Aug. 21

DARKE COUNTY — The Directors for The Great Darke County Fair are pleased to announce that Chicago will perform live in concert during the 160th Great Darke County Fair.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m., August 21.

Eligible since 1994, Chicago will be inducted into the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland April 8.

Chicago’s lifetime achievements include a Grammy Award; multiple American Music Awards; a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; a Chicago street dedicated in its honor; and keys to and proclamations from an impressive list of U.S. cities. Record sales top the 100,000,000 mark, and include 21 Top-10 singles, five consecutive Number One albums, 11 Number One singles and five Gold singles. An incredible 25 of the band’s 36 albums have been certified platinum, and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum awards.

Formed in 1967, Chicago has toured every year since its inception. The line-up includes original band members Robert Lamm on keyboards and vocals; Lee Loughnane on trumpet and vocals; James Pankow on trombone; and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds. Other members include Jason Scheff on bass and vocals; Tris Imboden on drums; Keith Howland on guitar and vocals; Lou Pardini on keyboards and vocals; and Walfredo Reyes, Jr. on percussion.

All seats are reserved. 120 V.I.P. track seats will be sold at $55 each. Additional track seats are $40 each and Grandstand seats are $37 each. Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 5 at 9 a.m. EST via internet at www.darkecountyfair.com/ticket-information or by phone at 937-548-5044 using a debit or credit card.

Beginning Monday, March 7 at 9 a.m. EST, tickets may also be purchased at the Fair Box Office located at 800 Sweitzer Street, Greenville, Ohio. Persons 3 years of age and older are required to purchase a seat ticket. Persons under 3 years of age are admitted free providing they sit on the lap of a paying seat ticket holder.
