ANSONIA — Brown Township Trustee Ed Huff Jr. has been elected another two years as secretary-treasurer of the Ohio Township Association.
“I think it’s great to be elected by the township trustees and fiscal officers,” Huff said. “I got 2,800 votes out of 3,000. I am looking forward to serving again.”
A resident of Ansonia with wife Denise, he is in his sixth term and 21st year as a township trustee.
A 1969 Ansonia High School graduate, he is also running for state representative in the primary election.
Elections for the OTA officers and directors were held during the OTA’s annual Winter Conference and Trade Show held in Columbus Jan. 27-30. More than 3,000 elected officials attended the 80+ educational workshops offered during the conference. All active members of the Association (trustees and fiscal officers from Ohio’s 1,308 townships) are eligible to vote in officer elections.
Huff will help manage the state association, which entails adopting an annual budget, authorizing all expenditures of association funds, the employment of personnel, setting forth a legislative agenda and managing the public relations tools of the OTA.
Huff has served Brown Township for 20 years. He served on Ohio Township committees: Insurance, winter conference, policy and finance, and he is president of Darke County Township Association. He is also a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge, Antioch Shriner, Free & Accepted Scottish Rite Mason (32 degree), Greenville Lodge of Elks, Fraternal Order of Eagles and is owner of Huff Home Inspection Inc.
