He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and is a member and Past President of the Darke County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section of the Ohio State Bar Association. John is currently serving as president of The Darke County Historical Society. John resides in Greenville with his wife, Joy.

In accepting the award, Marchal said, “Normally I would say a lot of things, but since my granddaughter is here, I’m going to tell you what she would normally say to me: The less said, the better.”

“Thank you very much, that’s quite an honor, and I think about all those people who’ve been named before me,” he added.

Pierri is the manager of Zechar Bailey Funeral Homes in Greenville and Versailles. He is currently a member and past president of the Greenville Rotary Club, member of the YMCA of Darke County and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. “It’s definitely a true honor,” said Pierri. “I need to thank my wife. She embraces me, she helps me out. There’s this thing out there where people talk about their better half — she’s definitely my better half.”

Pierri also thanked his YOLO associates, saying the award was “a group effort.”

In addition to their Chamber awards, Marchal and Pierri received commendations from representatives of the Ohio Governor’s Office, the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House of Representatives.
