Arcanum seeks administrator

ARCANUM — The Village of Arcanum is seeking a new village administrator.

Interviews of potential candidates were held at the village’s administration building on November 1. The person ultimately chosen will replace former Village Administrator Col. Bill Sinnes, who resigned from the job effective October 7. He served in that capacity for approximately three years.

Arcanum Mayor Judy Foureman said the position will certainly be the subject of discussion at the next Arcanum Council meeting, scheduled for November 8 at 7 p.m.

“Council is not totally decided yet on if they want a part-time or full-time administrator,” she said, noting that Sinnes had worked part time.

Foureman said council will first have to determine if it wishes to make the position part time or full time before selecting a replacement. She believes at that point the body will make a decision on the hire, most likely by the time of its December meeting.

“We will take a look at the one’s we felt were the best candidates that have been interviewed, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be others we take a look at,” she added. As mayor, Foureman will recommend a candidate, but council will be tasked with giving its final approval.

Foureman has taken on the responsibilities of the position during the interim, she said.
