Woman injured in morning crash

ARCANUM — A Union City woman was injured in a Monday morning crash.

On April 24 at approximately 6:47 a.m. Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Fire and Arcanum EMS were dispatched to State Route 49 and Pitsburg Laura Road in reference to a two-vehicle, injury accident.

The preliminary investigation revealed Amy Hill, 42, of Union City, Indiana, was driving a green 1998 Buick Century traveling southeast on State Route 49. James Leddy, 24, of Westerville, Ohio, was driving a gray 2007 Ford Escape traveling northwest on State Route 49. Hill traveled left of the center line striking Leddy’s car in the left front of the gray 2007 Ford Escape. Hill drove off the left side of roadway striking a metal fence. Leddy’s vehicle spun around coming to rest facing southeast in the roadway.

Hill was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Arcanum EMS where her condition was unknown. Leddy was treated and released at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
