Two hospitalized from deer-motorcycle collision

BRADFORD — Two motorcyclists were hospitalized Saturday following a collision with a deer.

At 1:47 p.m. on June 10, Darke County Sheriff’s deputies, along with Bradford Fire, Bradford Rescue and Miami Valley CareFlight, responded to the 8800 block of State Route 185 on a deer-versus-motorcycle accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a northbound 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle was struck by a deer. The impact caused both occupants of the motorcycle to be ejected.

The motorcycle’s driver, David Bowman, 43, of Troy, Ohio, was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The passenger, Jennifer Robinette, 39, also of Troy, was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center by Bradford Rescue where she was listed in stable condition as well.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
