Chicken pottery to be offered with paid subscription

DARKE COUNTY – The Daily Advocate will be offering the only chicken at the fair this year, continuing an annual tradition of offering a hand-made pottery piece with a paid one-year subscription.

The 2015 piece is a bank in the shape of a chicken, featuring the Ohio Buckeye five-leaf cluster, which matches the previous years’ pottery pieces.

Those who purchase a new one-year subscription for $97.24 (only $1.87 per week) are eligible for a one-of-a-kind piece of pottery, valued at $30.

The special subscriptions are available only at The Daily Advocate booth in the coliseum on the fairgrounds during the Great Darke County Fair Friday, Aug. 21- Saturday, Aug. 29. Subscriptions must be paid for at the time of purchase with cash, check or credit card. One pottery piece per subscription while supplies last.

The Daily Advocate fair booth will be manned from Friday, Aug. 21 to Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

This year’s pottery was designed and crafted by Liberty Pottery in Roscoe Village, Coschocton, which specializes in hand-thrown, hand-painted pottery, Each piece is handmade and hand-painted by on-site artists and each piece will be unique.
