DARKE COUNTY — Three members of the Darke County Fair’s Board of Directors will be returning to their seats for another three-year term.

Matt Aultman, Brian Rismiller and James Zumbrink were reelected to the board following Thursday’s vote by members of the Darke County Agricultural Society.

Rismiller, currently president of the board, received 387 votes. Zumbrink got 326 votes, while Aultman received 309 votes, according to results released by the board’s Secretary/Manager Daryl Riffle.

A fourth prospective board member, challenger Jerry A. Bunch, did not receive enough votes (180) to unseat one of the incumbents.

Rismiller said, “Obviously, I’m pleased to get back on. I want to thank everyone who came out and supported me and voted for me.”

“It’s overwhelming, emotionally,” he added. “There’s still some things I hope to get done, some projects I want to help with.”

Zumbrink also expressed his thanks, saying, “I’m extremely happy with the election and grateful for all the support.”

Aultman offered his congratulations to his fellow board members, saying, “I look forward to working with them in the future.”

He added, “I’m pleased with the support and I’m looking forward to the next few years on the board. I hope to keep doing what I’m doing, to improve the fair, and with it, the community.”

The board will choose its officers — president, vice president and treasurer — in October, with the officers taking their seats beginning in November.

Four board seats, currently held by Jerry Marker, Doug Martin, Dean Neff, and Dave Niley, will be up for election in 2016.

The Darke County Fair wrapped up its 159th annual event on Saturday. For more information on happenings at the Darke County Fair, visit the organization’s website at www.darkecountyfair.com.
