GREENVILLE — South Broadway in Greenville was packed Saturday afternoon and evening with car owners and spectators visiting the Legendary Rolling 50’s Classics Fall Cruise-In.

Dubbed one of Ohio’s largest cruise-ins, the show attracted close to 400 classic vehicles viewed by many who strolled the downtown streets on and off South Broadway.

Kenny Erwin, one of the organizers, said attendance was “down a little,” but was quick to add, “It was a beautiful night, just a little chilly.”

Forty awards were presented and the first 450 cars were to be awarded dash plaques.

“Three or four club members and representatives of the fire and police departments helped judge,” Erwin said.

The cruise-in featured live deejay Fast Eddie Ferguson, who played ’50s and ’60s music; an exhibit by Hooked on Fishing; a NASCAR simulator; and there was even a Monster Truck there.

Another highlight to the evening was when the Rolling 50’s Classics presented $1,330 each to their its charities — Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and the Cancer Association of Darke County — out of their 50/50 money.

The Legendary Rolling 50’s Classics conduct this cruise-in the fall as well as another cruise-in on Wagner Avenue and a car show on Father’s Day at the Darke County Fairgrounds each year.
