GREENVILLE — Banking customers will have a new location to go to as Greenville National Bank (GNB) opened a branch office at the Brethren Retirement Community (BRC).

A ribbon-cutting ceremony in collaboration with the Darke County Chamber of Commerce was held Wednesday afternoon with representatives of GNB and residents and staff of the BRC, along with members of the Darke County Chamber of Commerce joining in the opening the facility.

“Greenville National Bank is excited to become a partner of BRC community to provide financial services for not only the residents, the staff, but for all our GNB customers who may find this southern location a little more convenient than our other locations here in Greenville or around the county,” said GNB President and Chief Executive Officer Kent James at the ceremony.

Greenville Mayor Mike Bowers thanked GNB for its commitment to BRC residents, as well as the city.

“This will be a good working relationship,” he said. “You are what makes Greenville a vital community.”

Darke County Commissioners Diane Delaplane and Mike Stegall also offered brief remarks at the ceremony.

The new GNB branch fills a void left by the departure of the Second National Bank branch office earlier this year.

“We are pleased to have Greenville National Bank become part of the life of Brethren Retirement Community,” said BRC President and CEO John Warner. “They bring a wide array of products and services that are helpful to our residents, families and staff.”

He added, “The GNB team has been great to work with as the office has opened here at BRC. We look forward to a longstanding relationship with the bank as they establish the Chestnut branch on our campus.”

James told the Daily Advocate the new branch at BRC will be a full-service location.

“It will be primarily depository,” he said, “but we can facilitate some preliminary discussion with customers regarding lending and other services we offer.”

“There are two designated parking spots at the location,” he added. “We look forward to fulfilling the needs not only of Brethren residents but also customers who live toward the south end of Greenville, offering them an alternative to driving further into town.”

“We look forward to a long residence here,” he said.

GNB unveiled a new logo void of the longstanding green color version its had. The new logo is black, gold and white. New signage with the new logo are displayed at the BRC.
