Woman sent to hospital following accident on SR 118

GREENVILLE — An woman was transported to the hospital Thursday morning after her vehicle was rear ended by another.

On April 12 at 11:37 a.m. Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Rescue and Greenville Township Fire were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 118 and Phares Drive in reference to a two-vehicle, injury crash.

The investigation revealed that a 2017 Ford Escape, driven by Charlene K. McGlothin, 70, of Greenville, was northbound on State Route 118, slowing to turn left onto Phares Drive when it was struck in the rear by a 2009 Pontiac G6, driven by Peter M. Perretta, 29, of Arcanum, who was also traveling northbound on State Route 118.

McGlothin was the lone occupant in her vehicle and was transported to Wayne HealthCare by Greenville Rescue with non-life threatening injuries. Perretta was the lone occupant in his vehicle and refused treatment at the scene. He was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead.
