GREENVILLE - Cody Bailey, 19, plead not guilty to an arson charge, a felony of the fourth degree, in a video arraignment from the Darke County Jail on Monday.

Bailey was arrested July 15 for attempting to start a fire with lighter fluid in an alley.

Bailey’s attorney, Randy Breaden, requested Bailey be released of his own recognizance, as he has no adult record, though he does have juvenile charges. Deborah Quigley, Darke County assistant prosecutor, felt the bond was appropriate until Bailey was able to establish housing.

According to Breaden, Bailey has arranged such housing. Hein obtained the details of Bailey’s housing arrangements, and stated the bond would continue until he had gathered more information on the situation.

A hearing was set for Aug. 25.
