DAYTON — ”Internet Security Tips & Best Practices” will be this month’s topic of the 40-year-old Dayton Microcomputer Association, Inc., (DMA) general meeting. The meeting takes place Tuesday, Oct. 25 at TJ Chumps at 7050 Executive Blvd., Huber Heights, OH, 45424-1417.

Face-to-face social networking, with optional you-pay, off-the-menu meals, begins at 6 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 7 p.m. Admittance is free to anyone interested.

This meeting’s topic references October being designated as “National Cyber Security Awareness Month,” named as such since 2004 by its sponsors: The National Cyber Security Division (NCSD) within the Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA, a non-profit organization). The DMA has no affiliation with these organizations. The DMA leadership is presenting information about this important topic as a free service to the entire Miami Valley community.

Several DMA members with considerable, combined, computer security experience will be contributing to this presentation. As always, a DMA general meeting offering will be followed by a Q & A session on this topic, and others, where both questions and answers often benefit the attendees.

Additional information on this meeting topic, the Dayton Microcomputer Association, and its many Special Interest Groups (SIGS), is available at http://www.dma1.org.
