CELINA – For more than 50 years, the Western Ohio Educational Foundation (WOEF) has responded to the educational needs of residents in Auglaize, Darke, Mercer and Van Wert counties by providing the resources to allow residents access to college instruction.

The foundation secured the funding to build and operate an institution of higher education. Since 1962, WOEF has remained strongly committed to the success of the Lake Campus.

St. Marys Knights of Columbus Council #1592, a long-time supporter of Wright State University-Lake Campus, contributed two $150 Book Scholarships for the 2015/2016 academic year. Since this is a matching scholarship, the Western Ohio Educational Foundation matches the sum given to a Lake Campus student which increases the total award to $300.

Students competing for this scholarship, must be registered for a minimum of six credit hours for the Spring Semester 2016. This award may be used to purchase books and/or supplies at the Barnes & Noble bookstore located at the Lake Campus.

Accepting the 2015-2016 award is Loretta K. Chavis of St. Marys and Kalie J. Tobin of Mendon. Chavis is pursuing a degree in business and Tobin is pursuing a degree in psychology.
