GREENVILLE - Koenig is an equipment company currently located on State Route 571 in Greenville. However, by early next year, the company will be housed in a different location.

“They are expanding,” County Commissioner Diane Deleplane said. “They needed to build larger buildings for their combines and mechanics, and we’re just pleased that they’re staying here in Darke county servicing our farmers.”

The company will move to Childrens Home Bradford Road across from Whirlpool, tentatively by February 2015. Aaron Koenig, president of the company, said it would be just in time for spring planting.

He said the company has outgrown the existing facility, and the new space will allow the company to provide better customer service in an effective and officiant manner. The new facility is 42,000 square feet, which is 30 percent larger than the existing facility, according to Koenig. It will include a larger showroom, which will allow the company to have more products on-hand, rather than ordering them as they currently do in the existing facility. He added that the store will expand on brands such as Stihl and Honda, to go alongside the currently offered John Deere products.

Koenig said the inside and outside of the facility has been designed to reflect the company’s commitment to safety, with added capabilities such as a bridge crane, which will allow the company to work on larger equipment, as well as contribute to productivity.

Ground has already been broken for the new facility, a ribbon cutting ceremony may be held as well as a customer open house by spring.

Koenig said he is excited about the new facility, because it is a great opportunity for the business. He added that the company is currently transitioning ownership to the fourth generation, and this investment is the first for the new generation.

He said the company appreciates its customers, and is ultimately committing to this investment to better serve them.
