GREENVILLE - Darke County Common Pleas Court Judge Jonathan P. Hein released 30-year-old Shaun M. Ginter of Greenville on an own recognizance (OR) bond Tuesday morning.

Ginter appeared by video connection from the Darke County jail for an initial appearance after being arrested Saturday afternoon. Ginter has been charged with Aggravated Burglary, a felony of the first degree, stemming from an incident Saturday in which he allegedly entered a residence and assaulted a male victim with a metal object. The victim suffered injuries to his head from the violent assault.

According to Darke County Prosecuting Attorney Kelly Ormsby, Ginter could face additional charges, including a repeat violent offender specification since he was previously convicted and sent to prison for Robbery in 2003.

Ginter is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in Municipal Court on Feb. 10 at 11:30 a.m. He faces up to 11 years in prison and a $20,000 fine if convicted as currently charged.
