VERSAILLES - The field of 10 contenders for Miss Annie Oakley was narrowed to six Wednesday night in the preliminaries.


Those remaining to compete in the finals tonight are Hannah Gulley, Majennica Nealeigh, Alyssa Baumgardner, Shawna Osborne, Hayley Maher and Katie Hurd.


Rachel Francis, who won for best costume, was the first to be eliminated from the contest at 70 feet away from target.


Others eliminated were Tara Goubeaux, at 75 feet away, and Hannah Bingham and Mariana Ramos, both from 80 feet away.


The finals will begin at 6 p.m. today at 85 feet from the balloon targets at the new location, York Woods on Reed Road at the intersection of U.S. 127 and State Route 242.
