DARKE COUNTY - Members of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 57 of Darke County sold their first forget-me-not to Greenville Mayor Mike Bowers this week.

The yearly Forget-Me-Not drive is set for Aug. 8 and 9, with members posted at various businesses around Greenville.

“I would like to thank all the people and companies in our hometown for supporting the cause of the chapter,” said Commander Robert A. Foster. “First of all, we would like to thak the fair board for letting us store our float at the fairgrounds for the winter months at no cost to our chapter. Also, we had a fund-raiser this past spring and the respondents were as follows: American Legion Post 140, Leis Realty, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7262 Boosters Club, Francis Furniture, Second National Bank and Hittle Buick GMC. We want to send a special thank-you to all of these people; without support like theirs, we could not help veterans like we want to.”
