Christmas will be here before you know it! Christmas should not be all about the gifts. If you do not have money to spend on Christmas, focus on creating experiences that your family and friends will be able to cherish. Try Christmas caroling, baking cookies together, spending time going sledding or share stories by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate. Make all the days special between now the 25th, you will be surprised how this Christmas turns out to be one of your family’s favorites.


Tommy Renfro will present “Christmas with Tommy Renfro” at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Ithaca, Ohio on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. A free-will offering will be accepted to further his music career. Christmas treats and goodies will be served following the Christmas Program. For more information, you may call 937-884-7006.


It’s Girl for the Sullivans! Bella Jo Marie Sullivan was born on Nov. 16 at 2:38 a.m. to Jamie and Heather Sullivan. Bella Jo was welcomed home by siblings Max 1 ½ years, Griffen 4 ½ and Taylor 12 ½. Bella Jo weighed 6 pounds, 9.3 ounces and measured 18.5 inches in length at birth. Proud Grandparents are Vicky Ahlering-Flory, Frank Flory and Jim Sullivan and Mary Abruzzo. Great Grandparents are JoAnn Russel, Cameron Sullivan, and Ethel Sullivan.


The Arcanum Athletic Boosters will again this year present their Annual Spirit Wear/Santa Shop for the holidays. They will be located at 110 South Main Street in the old Southtown Pizza building on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They have all kinds of gift ideas including baby bibs, onsies, toddler t-shirts, as well as youth and adult t-shirts and sweatpants, hoodies, stadium seats and blankets, gloves, scarves and hats. They also have AHS camouflage caps, Trojan synch bags, and Tervis cups w/lids and handles. Happy Shopping!


Congratulations to AHS Senior Madison Brandon who signed her letter of intent to play softball at Ohio Northern University and major in Nursing.


Thank you to Mrs. Karen Cline, the AHS National Honor Society and the students and staff, for their outstanding effort with the Trick or Treat canned food drive this year. Thank you to the residents of our community for donating 3549 nonperishable food items to the local food bank.


Basketball season begins this week, schedules are available on the schools’ website at http://www.arcanum-butler.k12.oh.us/sportPage.aspx?sportID=7 . The support of the community has always been a great asset to the team and lots of entertainment for the whole family.
