Aug. 1 – Another great First Friday in August. Enjoy lunch on the lawn at the library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy lunch and music. Lunches are $7.

From 6 to 9 p.m. stores will be open and several will have live music to enjoy while you enjoy a cup of coffee or just strolling down beautiful downtown Greenville.

Aug. 2 – Missoula Children’s Theatre Residency present Rapunzel at 3 and 7 p.m. This is a Darke County Center for the Arts (DCCA) Family Series at the St. Clair Memorial Hall. Tickets are $5. Call DCCA at 937-547-0908 for more information. Attend this enjoyable performance and support our local students entering grades 1-12.

Aug. 3 – The Greenville High School (GHS) class of 1954 is enjoying their 60th reunion on Aug. 1, 2, and 3, Riverboat Cruise.

Aug, 4 – The GHS Class of 1953 monthly luncheon at the Brethren Retirement community private dining room at 11a.m. Contact Carol at 459-5989 for more information.

Aug. 12 – The GHS will meet at 9 a.m. in the BRC private dining room for a delicious breakfast. Classmates and/or spouses are invited. Please join us as a classmate and spouse from out of state will be attending.

Aug. 14 – The GHS class of 1951 will meet at the Asian Buffet, 521 Wagner Ave., for their lunch at noon.

Aug. 15 – The Senior scribes Scholarship Fund will meet at the BRC. Contact a member for time.

Aug.15 - Today starts the Great Darke County Fair and will extend nine days and nights. This is a great time to have fun and enjoy meeting old friends and new ones at the fair. Lots of food, activities, displays, 4-H projects, flowers and garden, animals of all kinds. Have fun! Be safe!

Aug. 15 and 16 – The 1959 class of GHS are inviting classmates to join them to celebrate their 55th class reunion. There will be a gathering at the Bistro off Broadway at 7 p.m. Friday evening, 6 p.m. dinner at the Greenville Elks Club Saturday evening and photos taken at 6:30 p.m. $15 per person and $15 per photo. Aug. 28 – The GHS Class of 1955 will hold its monthly luncheon at the Eagles Lodge on Third Street in Greenville at noon. Contact Georgianna at 548-2456.

- Free cooking classes at 10:30 Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at KitchenAid. Farmers Market at the Courthouse Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- Summer concerts in the Greenville Park during August start at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 3 – concert band; Aug. 10 – concert band; Aug. 17 – no concert – attend the Great Darke County Fair. Aug. 24 – jazz band; and Aug. 31 -concert band.

Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy local musicians’ wonderful music.
