ROCKFORD — The Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team lost 64-47 to Parkway on Monday.
Mississinawa Valley kept the game close early, trailing 17-11 at the end of the first quarter and 34-27 at halftime. Parkway pulled away in the second half, leading 47-34 through three quarters en route to the 64-47 Panther win.
Mississinawa Valley had 16 turnovers in the game to Parkway’s 14. The Panthers outshot the Lady Hawks .411 to .353.
Logan Nelson led Mississinawa Valley with 12 points in the loss. Also for the Lady Hawks, Mackenzie Dirmeyer scored 11 points, Nicole Scholl scored nine, Heather Johns scored eight, Victoria Humphries scored five, and Heather Dirksen scored two.
Parkway’s Cami Hellwarth led all scorers with 15 points on Monday. Also for the Panthers, Sierra Fent scored 12, Sarah Gehron scored 12, Lydia Heindel scored 11, Kayle Heckler scored nine, Terra Walls scored four, and Ashlynn Henderson scored one.
Mississinawa Valley fell to 1-5 with the loss while Parkway improved to 3-4.
Mississinawa Valley won the junior varsity game 41-23.
