BRADFORD — The Bradford Lady Roaders played host to Houston Monday, winning 11-1 in five innings, exploding for 11 runs in the first two innings off of eight hits.
“We were tracking the ball very well and making solid contact, even our outs were hard hits,” Bradford softball coach Shon Schaffer said.
Haley Patty lead the offensive charge, going 2-for-3 along with Erika Hart and Tori Smith also having a pair of hits. Michayla Barga tripled, and Mindy Brewer and Brooke Dunlevy also had hits.
“We did a nice job against a good pitcher,” coach Schaffer said. “We executed some sacrifices and played good selfless softball.”
Tori Smith pitched all five innings, giving up only four hits and striking out four with no earned runs.
The Roader defense was strong, recording no errors and making 11 put-outs on the bases.
