WEST MILTON — One bad inning was too much for Franklin Monroe to overcome in a non-conference baseball game against Milton-Union on Saturday.


Milton-Union scored eight runs in the bottom of the second inning Saturday. The Bulldogs also added a run in the fifth inning while the Jets scored their lone run in the sixth.


Milton-Union had nine hits, seven of which came in the second inning, while Franklin Monroe had seven hits on the day. Neither team made an error.


Justin Bingham was the losing pitcher for FM as he went 1.1 innings, allowing seven runs on six hits, no walks and a strikeout. Cade McGlinch pitched 4.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits, two walks and one strikeout.


Zach Hyre went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI for Franklin Monroe. Nick Lavy was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Landon Peters, Daniel Wiseman and Ross Burnett also collected hits for the Jets, who fell to 2-12 with the loss.
