VERSAILLES — The Versailles boys golf team won its Midwest Athletic Conference opener on Friday, defeating New Knoxville 159-230.
Versailles’ Jacob Watren led all golfers with a nine-hole round of 38 on the par-35 course. Also for the Tigers, Nicholas Litten-Stonebraker shot a 39, Griffen Reigle shot a 40, Kyle Christian shot a 42, Kyle Cotner shot a 44, Michael Hemmelgarn shot a 47, Preston Platfoot shot a 47, and Alec Ahrens shot a 50.
Ben Menke led New Knoxville with a score of 50. Also for the Rangers, Nick Thobe shot a 55, Shane Topp shot a 58, Eric Prader shot a 63, Robert Egbert shot a 65, and Gary Kuch shot a 69.
Versailles improved to 1-0 on the season with the win.
