New Madison News: New school year begins with great weather

0

Great weather is ushering in a new school year. Tri-Village students heard the familiar sounds of bus movement and locker doors closing! The academic year started Tuesday but as usual it was short weeks to begin scholastic work as Labor Day on Monday, September 4 is a free day.

Keep the parent-teacher conferences marked on your calendar. The time to meet your child’s teacher (s) will be Tuesday, October 17 and Thursday, October 19 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Football will be at home on Friday, September 1 and Friday, September 8 with Dixie and Bethel. Games begin at 7:30. Junior high football games will be in action in New Madison on Tuesday, August 29 with Arcanum and on Tuesday, September 5 with the Bethel Bees. These games begin at 5:30 p.m.

Cross Country meets are scheduled away until the Patriot Invitational on Tuesday, September 26. Runners take off at 4:30 p.m.

Volleyball is underway with National Trail on the Tuesday, August 29 at home. Then you can see the team in action at home with Covington on Tuesday, September 5 and Bethel on Thursday, September 7. And rounding the action here at home, see junior high volleyball with Miami East on Thursday, August 31.

Cheer the red, white and blue!

The fair has slipped into the record book and if you had a special win or recognition, email the information. In the meantime congratulations go to the cheerleading squads for a great show at the fair with the following wins: first place junior high; first place junior high individual (Chloe Godown); first place varsity dance and grand champion (highest score). And, for the future: first place pee wee cheer, Tri-Village.

Enjoy the fall season and keep me informed of special events. I will be glad to print them.
