1,500 runners compete at Treaty City Invitational

GREENVILLE – Greenville was host to 1,500 cross country runners for the running of the Treaty City Invitational cross country meet on Saturday morning.“Good turnout … good weather. We have 1,500 that we will have lined up by the end of the day,” Race Director Ed Porter said. “The varsity course is 3.1 (miles). It’s a 5K and then the junior high is 2 (miles).”Ten events made up the invitational with a race starting every 30 minutes with the firing of the cannon.
