Bradford girls basketball team loses at Newton

PLEASANT HILL – The Bradford girls basketball team lost 61-32 at Newton on Saturday.

Newton took a 16-8 first quarter lead and extended its lead to 42-15 at halftime. Newton increased its lead to 53-24 in the third quarter en route to the 61-32 final score.

Mandi Bates led Bradford with 15 points in the loss. Also for the Lady Railroaders, Mackenzie Weldy scored nine points, Hannah Fout scored six, and Kelly Moore scored two.

Madison Mollette led Newton with 11 points, Aliya Stiner scored eight, Macy Flanary scored seven, Tatum McBride scored six, Elizabeth Carroll scored five, Mallory Dunlevy scored four, Kaylee Kesler scored four, Britney Oburn scored two, and Anna Wolfe scored two.

Bradford fell to 3-9 with the loss. The Lady Railroaders play at Franklin Monroe on Thursday.
