Bradford girls finish as runner up at home powerlifting meet

BRADFORD – The Bradford girls finished as the meet runner up when the Railroaders hosted their 17th annual powerlifting meet with more than 300 lifters on Saturday.

UB-Shawnee won the girls portion of the meet by lifting 4,675 pounds while Bradford finished second by lifting 4,425 pounds. Bluffton placed third by lifting 4,185 pounds, St. Marys lifted 3,790 pounds to place fourth, Tri-Village lifted 3,700 pounds to place fifth, Shawnee lifted 2,850 pounds to place sixth, and Northwestern lifted 2,835 pounds pound to place seventh.

UB-Shawnee also won the boys portion of the meet by lifting 12,660 pounds. St. Marys lifted 12,015 pounds to place second, Kenton lifted 11,795 pounds to place third, Kenton Ridge lifted 11,360 pounds to place fourth, Madison Plains lifted 11,120 pounds to place fifth, Arcanum lifted 11,055 pounds to place sixth, Bradford lifted 10,395 pounds to place seventh, Allen Eat lifted 10,160 pounds to place eighth, Northwestern lifted 9,205 pounds to place ninth, and Tri-Village lifted 9,015 pounds to place 10th.

Cheyenne won the 11th-12th grade girls 115 pound class for Bradford while the Lady Railroaders’ Lillian Elleman won the ninth-10th grade girls unlimited class.

Michelle Bixler was the runner up in the ninth-10th grade girls 145 pound class, and Rebekah Lavey finished second in the 11th-12th grade girls unlimited class.

Hannah Stine finished third in the ninth-10th grade girls 125 pound class, Courtney Addington finished third in the 11th-12th grade girls 195 pound class, and Rachel Lavey finished third in the 11th-12th grade girls unlimited class.

Brycelyn Hoop finished fifth in the ninth-10th grade girls 155 pound class.

Bryson Canan finished third in the 11th-12th grade boys 155 pound class, and Hunter Penkal finished third in the ninth-10th grade boys 175 pound class.

Daryen Booker finished fourth in the 11th-12th grade boys 185 pound class.

Cory Cotrell finished fifth in the ninth-10th grade boys 195 pound class, Brandon Mitchell finished fifth in the 11th-12th grade boys 210 pound class, Jarrett Boggs finished fifth in the ninth-10th grade boys 225 pound class, and Baily Powell finished fifth in the 11th-12th grade boys unlimited class.

Bradford will compete on March 12 at Kenton High School for the Division 4, 5, 6 and 7 state powerlifting meet.
