Greenville boys tennis team wins its 1st GWOC North match

GREENVILLE – The Greenville boys tennis team collected its first Greater Western Ohio Conference win of the season on Tuesday with a 5-0 sweep of Piqua.

In first singles Greenville’s Noah Haupt beat Tyler Lavey 4-6, 7-6, 6-1. In the second singles match the Green Wave’s Craig Manges beat Josh Hanes 6-1, 6-2. In third singles the Wave’s Quintin Muhlenkamp swept J.J. Rohrbach 6-0, 6-0.

In first doubles Greenville’s Alex Lance and Tyler Davis beat Brendan Tisher and Sean Hatke 6-0, 6-3. In the second doubles match Austin Grote and Josh Smith beat Emily Williams and Brad McPherson 6-1, 6-2.

Greenville improved to 6-4 overall and 1-2 in the GWOC North with the win. Piqua fell to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the GWOC North.

The Greenville junior varsity boys tennis team defeated Piqua 5-0. Max Onkst, Aaron Lobenstein, Zach Miller, Bryan Day, Pablo Badell, Ryan Clefford and Jayce Lovett all were winners.
