DAYTON – The Arcanum Trojans and Franklin Monroe Jets played a very special baseball game against each other on Tuesday night. They played down at Fifth Third Field, home of the Dayton Dragons.

Before the first pitch the teams honored Franklin Monroe senior Hudson Nestor, who died in a December car crash. They had Hudson’s mom, her fiancé, his dad, his dad’s girlfriend, grandparents, siblings, aunt and more out on the field to honor Nestor. Two of his brothers and his little sister got to throw out the first pitches.

After a scoreless first two innings the Jets caught fire in the top of the third.

Trevor Collins and Jared Bundenthal drew back-to-back walks to start the inning. Bryce Filburn and Cade McGlinch both singled, Jeremy Bridenbaugh laid down a bunt single and Zach Hyre singled, all of which gave FM a 3-0 lead.

The rest of the innings went by quickly for both teams. Both teams had three or four batters each inning besides the bottom of the sixth. The bottom of the sixth the Trojans had five batters but did not score.

The score remained 3-0 at the end of the game.

The Jets had four hits and one error. The Trojans had three hits and one error.
