Tri-Village baseball team defeats Ansonia

ANSONIA – Tri-Village beat Ansonia 12-8 in a non-conference baseball game on Monday in Ansonia.

Tri-Village took a 3-0 lead in the second inning. After Ansonia scored a run in the bottom half of the frame, Tri-Village scored six in the third to make it 9-1. Ansonia cut its deficit to 9-5 in the fourth inning. Tri-Village then added three in the sixth, and Ansonia scored three in the seventh.

Tri-Village had 14 hits and one error in the game while Ansonia had five hits and seven errors.

Christian Ricker pitched four innings for Tri-Village, allowing one earned run and four unearned runs while striking out three. Jorden Midlam pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed three earned runs while striking out one. Jordan Buckley got the final out of the game for Tri-Village.

Rygh Fortkamp pitched the complete game for Ansonia, allowing four earned runs and eight unearned runs while striking out two.

For Tri-Village Midlam was 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs. Luke Wheeler was 2-for-4 and scored three runs. Jonny Wilson went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple and two RBIs. Tanner Maples was 2-for-5 with a double. Trey Frech was 2-for-4 and scored two runs.

For Ansonia Tyler Neal was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and three RBIs. Dane Wentworth was 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Fortkamp went 1-for-3 with a double and a run.

Tri-Village improved to 9-7 with the win while Ansonia fell to 1-15.
