Versailles baseball team defeats Minster

MINSTER – Versailles scored two runs in the sixth inning to defeat Minster 2-1 in a Midwest Athletic Conference baseball game on Thursday.

Minster scored its lone run of the game in the second inning and held the lead until the sixth when Versailles scored twice. Versailles had seven hits and one error while Minster had five hits and two errors.

Brett McEldowney went 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run for Versailles. Kyle Subler was 1-for-3 with a stolen base and scored a run. Cole Niekamp was 2-for-3 with a double. Austin Knapke and Jacob Watren both went 1-for-3.

McEldowney pitched the complete game, allowing one run on five hits, one walk and eight strikeouts.

Versailles improved to 15-4 overall and 7-1 in the MAC with the win while Minster fell to 13-7 overall and 4-4 in the MAC.
