Versailles boys golf team finishes 4th at Scott Homan Memorial

PIQUA – The Versailles boys golf team finished fourth in the team standings at the 30th annual Scott Homan Memorial on Monday at Piqua Country Club.

Versailles shot a 353 as a team to finish fourth out of 18 teams. The Tigers placed behind champion Wapakoneta with its 321, runner up Troy with a 330 and third place St. Marys with a 346.

Northmont finished fifth with a 355, Minster was sixth with a 362, Lehman Catholic placed seventh with a 372, Piqua was eighth with a 381, and Milton-Union finished ninth with a 385.

Greenville finished in 10th place as the Green Wave shot a 389. Tippecanoe finished 11th with a 391, Miami East was 12th with a 392, New Bremen placed 13th with a 415, West Carrollton was 14th with a 416, Sidney finished 15th with a 425, Urbana placed 16th with a 459, Covington was 17th with a 464, and Piqua B finished 18th with a 484.

The top Darke County golfer was Versailles’ Nicholas Litten-Stonebraker, who finished fourth overall with an 18 hole round of 79. Also for the Tigers, Kyle Cotner shot an 87, Isaac Ruhenkamp shot a 92, Preston Platfoot shot a 95 and Alex Groff shot a 95.

Jason Shields led Greenville with a round of 84. Also for the Green Wave, Connor Null shot a 96, Clayton Klosterman shot a 104, Matt Hounshell shot a 105, and Andrew Kirylule shot a 113.

Wapakoneta’s Logan Miller took medalist honors as he beat Troy’s Holden Scribner in a playoff after they both shot a 74. Wapak’s Jared Miller finished third overall with a round of 78.
