Greenville cross country runners record personal bests at Widewater Invitational

LIBERTY CENTER – Three-quarters of Greenville’s cross country runners recorded personal bests or season bests on Saturday at the Widewater Invitational in Liberty Center.

Greenville finished seventh out of 12 teams in the boys varsity black division. Napoleon won the division, Bowling Green finished second, Avon Lake was third, Maumee was fourth, Fairview finished fifth, Otsego was sixth, Delta finished eighth, Holgate was ninth, Toledo Central Catholic was 10th, Evergreen finished 11th, and Archbold finished 12th.

Calab Browder led Greenville’s boys as he finished 33rd overall in a time of 17:57.20. Also for the Green Wave, Andrew Kocher finished 39th in 18:08.30, Jacob Subler finished 59th in 18:34.80, Seth Unger finished 73rd in 19:07.70, Dodge Sucharda finished 78th in 19:17.30, Matt Karns finished 85th in 19:30.60, Jack Holbrook finished 109th in 19:50.90, Levi Emerick finished 118th in 20:04.20, Tyler Strait finished 147th in 21:44.20, Branson Leigeber finished 165th in 23:12.70, and Nicholas Colby finished 191st in 31:14.10.

Maumee’s Zak Kirk won the boys varsity black race, which included 191 competitors, in a time of 15:11.30.

Greenville finished ninth out of 12 teams in the girls varsity black division. Pettisville won the division, Avon Lake finished second, Napoleon was third, Holgate was fourth, Fairview finished fifth, Bowling Green was sixth, Otsego was seventh, Toledo Central Catholic finished eighth, Archold was 10th, Evergreen was 11th, and Maumee finished 12th.

Grace Coakley led the Greenville girls by finishing 27th overall with a time of 21:36.40. Also for the Lady Wave, Brooke Perreira finished 32nd in 22:05.40, Hayley Maher finished 43rd in 22:34.30, Tiffany Strobel finished 48th in 22:52.50, Kelsie Ruble finished 75th in 24:35.00, Foorentine Schaesemeier finished 107th in 28:15.80, and Emma Jennings finished 119th in 31:27.10.

Holgate’s Emma Willett won the girls varsity black race, which included 123 runners, in a time of 19:06.52.
