ARCANUM – Greenville’s boys golf team finished 15th at the Greater Western Ohio Conference postseason meet on Thursday at Beechwood Golf Course.
Jason Shields led Greenville with an 18-hole round of 82, finishing in 25th place overall. Also for the Green Wave, Logan Gonzalez placed 53rd with a 93, Andrew Kiryluk placed 77th with a 103, Connor Null finished 83rd with a 107, Clayton Klosterman finished 90th with a 113, and Matt Hounshell finished 92nd with a 114.
Springboro’s Josh Gilkison was the tournament medalist with a two-under-par 70. Vandalia-Butler’s Zach Crawford shot a one-under-par 71 to lead the American North division and finish tied for second overall.
Butler won the American North championship with a 296 team score. Troy was second with a 323, Tippecanoe finished third with a 368, Sidney was fourth with a 383, and Greenville and Piqua tied for fifth with a 385.
Centerville finished first overall in the GWOC with a 296. Butler finished second with its 296, Sprinboro was third with a 302, Fairmont was fourth with a 317, Troy was fifth with its 323, Lebanon was sixth with a 329, Beavercreek was seventh with a 332, Springfield was eighth with a 338, Miamisburg was ninth with a 347, and Northmont was 10th with a 355.
Xenia finished 11th with a 366, Tippecanoe was 12th with its 368, Sidney was 13th with its 383, Piqua was 14th with its 385, Greenville was 15th with its 385, Fairborn was 16th with a 423, Stebbins was 17th with a 448, Wayne was 18th with a 469, and West Carrollton was 19th with a 479.
