Versailles’ Kenzie Bruggeman named MAC volleyball co-coach of the year

The Versailles volleyball shared the Midwest Athletic Conference championship with Marion Local. Lady Tiger coach Kenzie Bruggeman was named the conference’s co-coach of the year for leading her team to the championship.

VERSAILLES – Versailles volleyball coach Kenzie Bruggeman was named the Midwest Athletic Conference co-coach of the year for the 2016 volleyball season.

In her first season as Versailles’ head coach, Bruggeman led the Lady Tigers to a share of the MAC championship along with Marion Local. Bruggeman and Marion’s Erica Schulze shared the conference’s coach of the year honors.

Versailles sophomore Elizabeth Ording and junior Danielle Winner both were named first team all-MAC.

Versailles’ Kami McEldowney and Ellen Peters both made the league’s honorable mention team.

New Bremen’s Paige Jones was unanimous choice as the MAC volleyball player of the year.

Versailles and Marion Local shared the conference championship with identical 8-1 records. Coldwater and New Bremen tied for third place with 7-2 records. Fort Recovery, Minster, New Knoxville and St. Henry all tied for fifth place with 3-6 conference records. Parkway finished ninth in the league with a 2-7 record, and Delphos St. John’s finished 10th with a 1-8 record.
