Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team loses to Newton


PLEASANT HILL – The Mississinawa Valley girls basketball team lost 59-27 to Newton in a Cross County Conference game.

Newton outscored Mississinawa Valley 16-4 in the first quarter and 17-4 in the second quarter to lead 33-8 at halftime. Newton increased its lead to 47-10 in the third quarter. MV outscored Newton 17-12 in the fourth quarter for the 59-27 final score.

Kelsie Hunt led Mississinawa Valley with 10 points in the game. Also for the Blackhawks, Mikayla Stump scored nine points, Sidnie Hunt scored four, and Madison Stachler scored four.

Newton’s Tatum McBride led all scorers with 17 points while Mallory Dunlevy scored 13.
