PLEASANT HILL – Bradford lost 50-24 to Newton in a non-conference girls basketball game on Saturday.
Newton took a 12-4 lead in the first quarter before Bradford cut its deficit to seven points, 24-17, in the second quarter. Newton extended its lead to 33-21 in the third quarter en route to its 50-24 win.
Mandi Bates led Bradford with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the game. Also for the Lady Railroaders, Liv Hart scored five points, Ally Booker scored two, Ivee Brubaker scored two, and Brooke Fair scored two.
Tatum McBride led Newton with a game-high 18 points while Elizabeth Carroll added 14.
