PLEASANT HILL – The Ansonia girls basketball team won a Cross County Conference game at Newton on Tuesday, 62-54.

Trinity Henderson led Ansonia with 23 points in the victory and also had three steals. Bailey Stammen had 15 points and five rebounds. Kassy Wentworth had 10 points and four rebounds. Katie Werts scored 10 points. Jailyn Thwaits had six rebounds.

Tatum McBride led Newton with a game-high 31 points.

Ansonia improved to 6-8 overall and 3-4 in the CCC with the win. Newton fell to 8-3 overall and 3-2 in the CCC.

Ansonia will play at National Trail on Thursday.
