Bradford baseball team run ruled at New Bremen

NEW BREMEN – New Bremen run ruled the Bradford baseball team 13-3 in six innings on Monday in New Bremen.

New Bremen struck first in Monday’s game with a run in the bottom of the first. Bradford tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third, but New Bremen scored four runs in the third and two in the fourth to go up 7-1. After Bradford scored two runs in the top of the sixth, New Bremen scored six more in the bottom half of the inning to enact the 10-run run rule.

Bradford had two hits and two errors in Monday’s game while New Bremen had 10 hits and two errors.

Parker Smith went 1-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases and a run for Bradford. Bryant Byers was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Mason Justice walked, stole a base and scored a run while Clay Layman also stole a base and scored a run.

Jeff Wolf was charged with the loss as he pitched five innings, allowing seven earned runs on six hits, five walks, four hit batters and three strikeouts. Walker Branson allowed one earned run and five unearned runs on three hits and two walks in 2/3 of an inning. Larkin Painter allowed one hit to the only batter he faced.

Bradford fell to 1-2 with Monday’s loss.
