Tri-Village baseball team wins at Legacy Christian

XENIA – The Tri-Village baseball team improved to 3-0 on the season Monday with a 7-6 comeback win at Legacy Christian.

Tri-Village took an early 4-0 lead with two runs in the first inning and two more in the second. Legacy Christian then tied the game at 4-4 with two runs in the bottom of the second and two in the third.

After Tri-Village went up 5-4 with a run in the top of the fifth, Legacy Christian took its first lead in the bottom half of the inning with two more runs to go up 6-5.

In the seventh inning Gage Hileman worked a one-out walk. Christian Ricker followed with a slow infield hit that was thrown away at first, allowing Hileman to score and tie it up at 6-6 and move Ricker all the way to third. Following a walk and an infield popup, Mason Sullenbarger hit a two-out single into left to plate the go-ahead run.

Tri-Village had 12 hits and three errors in the game while Legacy Christian had 10 hits and two errors.

Jonny Wilson was 3-for-5 with three RBI. Luke Wheeler was 2-for-4 with a double. Jackson Plush also went 2-for-4.

Hileman pitched two innings and allowed one earned run and one unearned run on five hits. Cameron Munchel pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run and three unearned runs on five hits and one strikeout. Ricker pitched one inning, allowing no hits while striking out two. Wilson earned the win as he pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing no runs or hits while striking out two.
